Triathlon is a multi-sport activity with three components: swimming, cycling, and running. The AroostookYouth Triathlon is a great way for your child to get active and experience the thrill of participating in a real triathlon.

Ages 8 - 9 [Awards for top boy & girl finishers]
Swim 50 yards (length of the pool down & back once)
Bike 2 miles (3 laps around the bike course)
Run 1 mile (finishing on the soccer field)

Ages 10 - 12 [Awards for top boy & girl finishers]
Swim 50 yards (length of the pool down & back once)
Bike 2.5 miles (5 laps around the bike course)
Run 1 mile (finishing on the soccer field)

Ages 13-14 [Awards for top boy & girl finishers]
Swim 50 yards (length of the pool down & back twice)
Bike 2.5 miles (5 laps around the bike course)
Run 1 mile (finishing on the soccer field)

Schedule

8:00 Check-in for parents and athletes
8:45: Pre-race meeting
9:00 Race Begins.


Preparing for the Event

With a little bit of preparation before the event, any child can have a fun and successful triathlon experience. Help your child build endurance gradually while having fun getting active.

In the months prior to the event, several training sessions will be held for event participants. These free sessions will help your child become familiar with the pool and the course.
